As the weather gets colder during this holiday season there is nothing quite so soothing as a mug of hot chocolate. As a child you may have sipped many hot cocoas before bed on Christmas Eve. At Fossil Creek Liquor we believe that all of the wonder of childhood continues well into adulthood and that includes our love of hot cocoa. For the adults of the house (21 and up) we have a cocktail twist on that traditional hot cocoa. This year try Prancer’s Hot Cocoa while you assist Santa with his Christmas Eve tasks.
1 package of hot cocoa
1 oz. Potter’s peppermint schnapps
½ oz. Potter’s dark crème de cacao
¼ oz. Potter’s crème de menthe
Whipped cream (for topping)
1 York Peppermint patty for garnish
1 candy cane for stirring
Pour 1 ounce of Potter’s peppermint schnapps, ½ ounce Potter’s dark crème de cacao, ¼ ounce of Potter’s crème de menthe into a coffee mug. Add a full serving of hot cocoa and stir well with a candy cane. Cut a slit into a York peppermint chocolate and place it on the rim of the mug. Top the drink with whipped cream and serve hot.
